Although it was opened in 1994, the Ajou University Hospital has grown each year and achieved many successes in its short history. It provides the best medical treatment to its patients, guided by its mission which is to be there for everyone and be committed to caring for all. Over the 28 years, the hospital has shown great effort to keep its promise with its professional medical staff, cutting-edge medical equipment, and medical centers which are specialized by disease types.
Ajou University Hospital received the JCI certification three times in 2011, 2014, and 2017, was designated as the Cancer Center for Gyeonggi province, and received a first-class rank in the evaluation of medical treatment of types of cancer such as stomach cancer, large intestine cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer from the Review & Assessment Service of the National Health Insurance Corporation. After being recognized as an official Research-Driven Hospital by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the hospital made a great effort in building a foundation for fusion research. The hospital has successfully performed organ transplantations, the robotic surgeries as well thanks to medical equipment which includes Rapid Arc, the Da Vinci Surgical Robot, and various Angiography machines.
The hospital treats approximately 1.000 patients and 4.000 outpatients daily. It consists of a 14-story building with 3 basement floors, Wellbeing Center, School of Medicine, College of Nursing, Regional Emergency Center, Trauma Center, Annex, and a funeral home. It has 28 operating rooms, one of which is a robot-equipped operating room. The Professional medical teams work as a solid team, performing complex surgeries. The hospital also provides more than 20.000 medical health check-ups every year for foreigners.
